No Watches No Maps

Just finished interning at One Little Indian and FatCat records, it’s been an lovely time and it was just amazing working for two great labels, and some fantastic artists.

Picked up a couple of CDs on my way out and one that caught my eye was ‘a compilation of material recieved through the post as demos’ called No Watches No Maps [FatCat] . It’s 18 tracks of songs by various artists who as the title suggests sent in demos to the label. It was released ages ago in 2001 but its a great collection of tracks by artists who I and most people have probably never heard of -  most of the compilation is electronica  and experimental tracks. Definately pleased I picked it up. Only a couple of tracks in but Digi Otaku’s Up//+//Walked one of my favourites already – pure experimental electronica with beautiful beats and background synths.

I’ll update this post when I’ve listened to the whole compilation, but if you can try buy a copy. I’ll put the names of all the artists up as well.

Found this lovely piece of electronica. wisp’s been around for a while, but this is the first i’ve heard of him ( him being Reid Dunn Dunn is from Niagara Falls, New York, and from 2008 has been signed to Rephlex Records.
