BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE AT CORP

” I’m really sorry its such a grimey club”- Lisa Lobsinger talking about Corporation to a fan from who had come all the way from Vancover. ahaaha. Anyway forget what state Corporation was in, its always like that and Broken Social Scene were phenomenal. I met the band outside after they played and spoke to Sam Goldberg, Justin Peroff, Kevin Drew and even got a hug from Brendan Canning. Just got back from Sheffield, but will post more later, including videos of Shoreline and Sweetest Kill.

ARCADE FIRE – HACKNEY EMPIRE

PROBABLY THE BEST GIG I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO.  I SAW THEM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AT ST JOHNS CHURCH AND THEY THEN WERE VERY VERY GOOD, BUT TONIGHT EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, THE VENUE TO START WAS BEAUTIFUL, THEIR SOUND WAS BRILLIANT, EVERYTHING WAS SO TIGHT AND ARCADE FIRE THEMSELVES WERE JUST INCREDIBLE, THEY PROVED WHY THEY ARE REGARDED AS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS TODAY. THE CROWD MADE IT TOO. EVERYONE THERE WAS JUST IN AWE AND NO ONE COULD STOP SMILING. AND THE VISUALS WORKED SO WELL, THEY FILMED THE WHOLE GIG, AND HAD A MASSIVE BILBOARD WITH LIVE IMAGES BEING PROJECTED ON TO IT, AS WELL AS PRE RECORDED FILM. BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED. ARCADE FIRE ARE MEANT TO BE SEEN LIVE, NOT JUST LISTENED TO. I WAS AMAZED AT HOW MUCH EFFORT HAD BEEN PUT INTO CREATING AN EXPERIENCE FOR THE AUDIENCE. NO ONE’S GOING TO FORGET IT.

I WILL WRITE MORE TOMORROW, BUT JUST COULDN’T HELP MYSELF WRITING A BIT TONIGHT. ALSO I GOT INTERVIEWED BY RADIO ONE FOR A ONE HOUR LONG DOCUMENTARY OF ARCADE FIRE WHICH WILL AIR AT 9PM ON AUGUST 2ND WHEN, THE SUBURBS IS REALSED. I WAS TOO EXCITED WHEN THEY INTERVIEWED BEFORE THE GIG I FORGOT HOW OLD I WAS AND SAID I WAS 18. (IM ALMOST 20). ALSO GOT INTERVIEWED BY RADIO 1 AFTER THE GIG TOO.  ANYWAY GOOD NIGHT. AND GO SEE ARCADE FIRE. ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING.

TILLY @ ULU

So  on saturday tilly and the wall played at ULU, in London. It was a short set, but it was a wicked gig. Everyone seemed to be having fun, although the people right at the front weren’t dancing at all which annoyed a bit….but in the end i was just having too much fun.

Before they went on jamie, nick, neely and derek were all at some point at the merchandise table and were chatting to pretty much most people which was cool and up for sale were signed “7 of ‘Beat Control” and also limited edition cassette’s of their new album ‘o’ [only 200 made --mine was #52] .

We decided to sit Slow Club out, but they still sounded pretty good. Before my friend and I went try and get to the front, I spotted Adriano from CSS, in the audience.
